Workshop: Weaving (Ages 4-6)

Description: Weaving is a great way for young learners to practice fine motor skills. Professional artist Andrea Vail will provide one-on-one instruction for each child to weave their own small tapestry.

Workshop: Empowering with Embroidery, Embroidered sew-on patches (Adults)

Description: Express yourself through colorful patterns, designs, or simplified images, logos, and initials! During this weekend workshop, you will learn basic embroidery stitches to design and begin a sew-on patch – then add your patch to any jacket, bag, canvas sneaker!

Workshop: Weaving Magic! (Ages 6-8)

Description: Watch the strands come together to create unique art in this class. Students will learn the basics of weaving with yarn and how to embellish their creations with mixed media bits and baubles.

Tenacious Tapestries (Ages 9-12)

Description: If you like collage, sewing, and working collaboratively you'll love our projects combining materials and ideas in unexpected ways. Come work with us to create something fabulous that is more than the sum of its parts!

Each week, campers will explore visual art and design from the Bechtler Museum’s collection through a variety of experimental and exciting art projects. In addition to daily studio projects, students will also visit the Bechtler Museum every day and other cultural attractions and parks in Uptown Charlotte.
